Dimosthenis Papadimitriou was born in Montreal
Canada on May 12, 1966. Born 1st Generation to
Greek immigrant parents he found it important
to explore his Greek heritage through music .
He began writing Greek songs in the early nineties
and performed them live at various Greek festivals
in Montréal as well as on Radio and Television
within his community.
Throughout his career as a Greek musical Artist
he has appeared at various venues in North America
and Greece entertaining many with his repertoire
of Greek classics, Modern Greek songs as well
as sharing with his audience his original songs.
His purpose is to entertain the people as well
as promote his originals and most importantly
preserve and promote the Hellenic musical expression.
In 1992 he set up Dimosong Productions studio
in Montréal where he collaborated with
other Greek musical artists and composed music,
produced and recorded projects for them. In 2001
he recorded his first album “aplos ena fos
k ena oneiro”. The album received air play
on Greek radio stations and programs across Canada
and in the U.S. his song “to fos”
went to number 1 on the Radio Akropolis charts
in Toronto. That same year he received a Greek
Canadian music award for best newcomer.
In 2003 he was honored with an Apollo award
by the Hellenic Community of Montreal for his
musical achievements and his involvement in the
Greek music scene in Canada. He later went on
to set up The Dimosthenis & Epsilon orchestra
for live performances. The group was formed with
one purpose in mind.
That purpose is to expose and share with audiences
the Greek musical experience and expression. Their
performances have been well received by all enthusiasts
of ethnic music and they have performed at the
popular venue Spectrum de Montréal as well
as the acclaimed Festival Francofolies.
Dimosthenis is an accomplished Guitar player
and singer he also plays piano, keyboards, trumpet,
bass, and bouzouki and is very knowledgeable in
sound recording and music production principles.
In 2007 Dimosthenis continues to share the
gift of song whether it’s recorded or performed
live for audiences because for him that is what
is so appealing about music. Dimosthenis is currently
appearing at Mythos in Montréal every Thursday
night and he is available for future performances
at music festivals and events with the Dimosthenis
& Epsilon orchestra
